    • Administered an unexpected questionnaire to measure progress since the start of the year.

    • Mazel tov to all on yesterday's Inauguration!
    • Passed many students on various Tefilot. (Was last chance this year.)
    • Reviewed Haftarah trope phrase melodies.

    • Walkthrough in sanctuary for Inauguration.

    What we did -- 17 Apr

    • Gave time for individual help on Inauguration parts.
    • Several passed prayers.
    • Full sanctuary walkthrough of Torah Service, including where to go when.

    What we did -- 10 Apr

    • Reviewed Inauguration assignments, needs.
    • Discussed freedom to do what we do.

    What we did -- 3 Apr

    • Reviewed Mizmor l'David, a lot.
    • Reviewed rest of Torah Service prayers.

    What we did -- 27 Mar

    • Eight of nineteen passed their April haftarah readings.
    • A few passed other Torah Service prayers or haftarah trope phrases.
    • Reviewed haftarah trope.
    • Reviewed Yehalelu, parts of Mizmor l'David (from Torah Service).

    • First ten students to arrive had three minutes each of individual work – on trope, readings, passing prayers, whatever they asked.
    • Numerous people passed more (see scoreboards).
    • Signed up for Inauguration leading or readings.
    • Second half of class, reviewed Yehalelu, Mizmor l'David (from second half of Torah Service).

    • Second half of class reviewed blessings for an aliyah, including what to do and when.

    What we did -- 21 Feb

    • TnT -- Congratulations to our mostly new readers on Saturday!
    • Trope -- Handed out remaining April readings (everyone has a March or April reading). Gave time to start working in class.
    • Tefila -- Reviewed Ein Keloheinu, boy band v. girl band. (The boys narrowly won.)
      Reviewed Aleinu.

    What we did -- 07 Feb

    • TnT -- Passed many students for Feb. Torah/Haftarah readings.
    • Assigned initial group of March/April readings (more to come).
    • Super Bowl -- Torah Service prayers were 7 points; Haftarah trope phrases 3 points.
    • The Rainbow Gummybears won a close match, 52-44.

    • Trope -- Reviewed haftarah trope Groups 1, and 2.
    • Torah Service -- Reviewed Mizmor l'David.
    • Took volunteers for March/April/June readings, from on-time students.

    What we did -- 24 Jan

    • Trope -- Reviewed haftarah trope Groups 1, and 2. Started on Zarka and final Silluk melodies (from group 2).
    • Torah Service -- Numerous students passed various prayers; first half of class.
    • Started learning a new, upbeat Adon Olam.

    • Congratulations to all TnT participants on Saturday!
    • Trope -- Reviewed haftarah trope Group 1, and Azla (from Group 2). Started on Revi'i melody (from group 2).
    • Torah Service -- Reviewed during Judaics class.

    What we did -- 10 Jan

    • Reviewed why we learn trope and Torah Service. Reviewed their purpose, beyond bar mitzvah.
    • Introduced two new class members!
    • Passed three Torah readers for next week's TnT.
    • Trope -- Reviewed haftarah trope, group 1. Started on Azla melody, in group 2.
    • Torah Service -- Reviewed Etz Chayim.

    • Torah Service -- Numerous students passed numerous prayers. Finished initial learning of Mizmor l'David.
    • Trope -- Reviewed haftarah trope, group 1.
    • Discussed approach to learning January/February Torah and Haftarah readings.

    • Torah Service -- Reviewed second half of Torah Service. Started first half of Mizmor l'David.
    • Trope -- Passed seven students for December TnT Torah readings.
    • Assigned January/February Torah and Haftarah readings, listed and linked to the right.
    • Reviewed steps for learning a Torah/Haftarah reading.

    • Torah Service -- Reviewed first half of Torah Service.
    • Trope -- Reviewed Group 1 (Katon, Etnachta, Silluk phrases) Haftarah trope melodies.
    • Reviewed process for gradually learning a Torah/Haftarah reading.

    • Torah Service -- Learned Etz Chayim, and its meaning. Reviewed Yehalelu. Several students passed various prayers.
    • Trope -- Learned Katon phrase. Reviewed Etnachta and Silluk phrase Haftarah trope melodies.
      Several students were first to pass Haftarah trope phrases.

    What we did -- 15 Nov

    • 3 students passed TnT readings for November. (Several others put in good, progressive effort.)
    • Torah Service -- Learned vZot haTorah and start of Yehalelu. Went over purpose/meaning of these prayers. Reviewed end of L'cha.
    • Trope -- Reviewed Etnachta and Silluk phrase Haftarah trope melodies.
    • Assigned more December TnT participants (listed to the right).
      Reminded of absolute importance of not waiting until the last week to start practicing.

    What we did -- 08 Nov

    • 9 students passed 14 Torah Service prayers -- a one-day record! (see Tefilot passed).
    • Torah Service -- Reviewed all learned prayers, in small groups. Reviewed Shema/L'cha together.
    • Trope -- Reviewed Etnachta phrase Haftarah trope melody, learned silluk phrase.
    • Reminded our November/December TnT participants (listed to the right).

    What we did -- 01 Nov

    • Torah Service -- Reviewed entire first half of Torah Service (Ein Kamocha, Vayehi Binsoa, Bei Ana Racheytz, Shema/L'cha).
    • Trope -- Started haftarah trope. Learned melody for Etnachta phrase.

    • Torah Service -- Worked extensively on Bei Ana Racheytz.
    • Trope -- Quick final review of all Torah trope melodies.

    • Torah Service -- Reviewed Vayehi Binsoa, worked on Ein Kamocha.
    • Trope -- Reviewed all Torah trope melodies, focused on Group Three.
    • Congratulated our October TnT participants (see Accomplishments).
    • Signed up for December TnT Torah readings.

    What we did -- 11 Oct

    • Torah Service -- Reviewed Vayehi Binsoa, worked on Shema/Lecha-Hashem.
    • Trope -- Reviewed Torah melodies for first two trope groups (seven lines) on trope sheet. Went over group three notes.
    • A few early birds passed Torah Service prayers (see Tefilot passed).

    What we did -- 27 Sep

    • Started meeting in Social Hall, hereon.
    • Torah Service reviewed first half of Eyn Kamocha, started on Vayehi Binsoa (which most already know).
    • Reviewed trope symbols/melodies of first two Torah trope groups (seven lines) on trope sheet (handed out; available on Torah trope website).
    • Reminded that we can't use software or recordings to learn Torah readings. Styles differ so it can confuse; and the purpose is to learn the reusable skill, not to memorize a recording.

    What we did -- 20 Sep

    • First TnT participants on 19th, for Torah readings and leading prayers.
    • Reviewed symbols/melodies of three main Torah trope groups (Katon/Etnachta/Silluk), and more.
    • Started Torah Service learning first half of first prayer, Eyn Kamocha.

    What we did -- 30 Aug

    • Reviewed why Torah matters (it's who we are) and that it can apply to today (not just the past).
    • Enjoyed a questionnaire to gauge what we already know and remember about Torah trope and the Torah Service.
    • Reviewed symbols/melodies of three main Torah trope groups (Katon/Etnachta/Silluk).
    • Reminded Yavneh students that there are slight differences in the trope they learned, and to do what they know (don't try to adapt).

    What we did -- 23 August

    • Quick overview of what Haftarah is, what the Torah Service is, and why we do them, to give context to learning them this year.
    • Overviewed process and collaboration with parents.
